Obama supporters look a lot like Alaskan hockey moms in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Medusa Hair Salon on Seventh Ave. sponsored Updos for Obama last Saturday night. Women paid $75 for a Sarah Palin updo and the chance to enter a Sarah Palin look-alike competition. The proceeds ($1680) went to the Obama campaign. Volunteers poured wine while some Joe Six Pack impersonators wandered through with Budweiser. Proof that even among the east coast elite, there are folksy, winking, big-coiffed Caribou Barbies? Youbetcha.
The real Sarah Palin was in New York the same night for Saturday Night Live, along with Joe the Plumber, who said he felt like Crocodile Dundee while wandering the streets of Manhattan! New York City draws the best celebrities.
