I've taken a bit of heat for my post yesterday expressing distaste for Sarah Palin's continuous, gratuitous use of regional and classist labels (especially her love of "blue-collar workers.") My contention was that her rhetoric comes across as barely-disguised regional and professional bigotry. I'm as concerned about the detrimental effects the "liberal elite" have had on this country as any conservative, yet I deeply feel that Palin's criticism applies to me along with them, simply by the fact that I'm a member of the media and live in New York City.  Creepy pastor videos are really dominating the election this year! The latest – a clip of a Kenyan pastor praying over Sarah Palin – just popped up on YouTube and then media outlets worldwide.  

As usual, it’s nothing most Christians haven’t seen and it scares the hell out of secularists.  Thomas Muthee preaches a brief sermon to Wasilla Assembly of God, about the need for Christians to “infiltrate” politics, media, government and education. Then he and two men lay hands on Palin and Muthee prays a mundane Pentecostal prayer rebuking “every form of witchcraft." (See the video after the jump.)

A while back, bloggers started to make fun of Barack Obama for being on, seriously, so many magazine covers.

But I walked into a magazine store on 35th street this morning to load up for the week and lo, and behold it's happened again! After the jump, a shot of today's magazine rack.
